On July 18, 2018, the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in Barbados signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), to extend the stay of the second Chinese medical team sent to assist QEH. Two surgeons and one physician from the second batch of medical professionals (see Record ID#54835 for the original project capturing this second batch) remained at QEH for an additional five days, between July 18 and July 23, 2018, to provide free medical services to Barbadians. The Chongqing Municipal Health Commission under the Chongqing Medical University organized the extension. Assistance provided included orthopedic and vascular operations. which initiated a five day event in which free medical services were provided to Barbadians. In total, China sent four batches of medical experts to assist QEH. These missions are captured by projects ID ##54835, #54834, #71321, and #54836. The grant included both medical equipment and consumables valued at USD $200,000.
