Project narrative

In 2018, Port City, a subsidiary of China Harbour Engineering Company, donated 2,000 books to local schools in Sri Lanka. The handover ceremony was held at Nagananda International Buddhist University on December 3, 2018. The books, titled ‘Standards for being a good student and Child,’ are based on the teachings of Confucius and social etiquette. Ven. Bodagama Chandima Thera, Chief Prelate of Manelwatta Temple, Professor and Dean of the Nagananda International Buddhist University, translated the book into Sinhalese to introduce Confucius' precepts to Sri Lankan children. Thera requested Port City's assistance in printing the book for distribution to local schools.
