Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In July 2013, China granted the government of Dominica EC$18 million that financed several projects, including the rehabilitation of Lalay Road in Grand Bay. This project was estimated to $1.5 million of the grant funding,. The total cost of the project is EC$3 million but only EC$1.5 million came from the Chinese side. The renovation of Lalay Road included replacing the water lines in Lalay, and the reconstruction of the road to include sidewalks, new drains, and a new surface as well as the reconstruction of the bridge crossing over from Pichelin to the health center. It was reported that replacing the water lines would have cost half a million dollars. Construction of the project finished in Febuary 2014.
