Project narrative

On January 14, 2010, Chinese and Samoan government officials signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA #70224) granting an unspecified amount to the Government of Samoa. On November 25, 2011, officials signed an exchange of letters allocating RMB 650,000 from this ETCA for the support of Samoan archers to travel to China for training. According to page 32 of the Annual Report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for the Financial Year July 2011- June 2012, the money covered "international air tickets, expenses of their stay in China on living, transportation, health care and international air tickets of the Chinese coach and interpreter and the expenses of their stay in NZ on living as well as the archery equipment and sports costumes provided by the Chinese Government." The start and end dates are unknown.
