Project narrative

From September 30 to October 4, 2019, the Chinese Embassy in Bolivia held the opening ceremony for an exhibition of photographs celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The exhibition, sponsored by the Embassy, contained about 200 photographs depicting China broadly, as well as developments in politics, economy, culture, science and technology, and education over the previous 70 years. The Bolivian Ministry of Culture and Tourism housed the exhibition at the ALBA Cultural Center (Casa del Alba Cultural). The opening ceremony was attended by officials in the Bolivian government, Chinese diplomats, Bolivian students studying the Chinese language, Chinese citizens in Bolivia, Bolivian citizens, and the Bolivian media. The ceremony also included a meal consisting of Chinese cuisine.
