Description

On October 30, 2013, the Chinese Embassy in Bolivia, the La Paz Municipal Government, and the Faculty of Economics of the Higher University of San Andrés (Universidad Mayor de San Andrés/USMA) signed an institutional agreement which created a program targeted at providing more hands-on experience and research opportunities for business and economics students. These opportunities will be centered specifically on development projects in the La Paz department, and thus are intended to provide benefits to both students and the areas surrounding the university. Specific details about how the Chinese Embassy will facilitate this program are unclear, particularly regarding whether it will providing funding or will only provide logistical assistance.

Additional details

This agreement was signed on the same day as the pledge for a Confucius Institute at USMA that never materialized (see project 72518). Given the lack of funding information, we have assumed the Chinese embassy was only involved in technical assistance for this project.
