Description
On December 11, 2018, Chinese International Technology Transfer Centre (CITTC) signed an MoU with National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) to establish China Pakistan Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTC). CITTC is a joint project of Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and Beijing Municipal Science and technology Commission, that provides a professional international technology transfer platform between China and other countries across the world. They agreed to help provide this centre as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), to facilitate ease of technological transfer between the two nations. The CPTTC is an element of NUST's flagship project, the National Science and Technology Park in Islamabad. The park's goal is to provide innovation, technology, and research services to students and startups across Pakistan. The park, including the CPTTC, was inaugurated in December of 2019. The concept of its establishment began with a 2013 academic paper. The center is funded by NUST.
