Project narrative

In 2008, the Chinese Embassy in Cape Verde signed an agreement to provide a CVE 90,000 grant to the Government of Cape Verde for the Eduardo Miranda Educational Complex Construction Project. The project involved for the construction of the Eduardo Miranda Educational Complex, a secondary school in Vila de Cova Figueira on Fogo Island. On September 20, 2008, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the construction of the school. However, due to delays with an unspecified Chinese contractor, construction did not begin until November 1, 2009. According to the Inforpress sources, the school was completed in 2011. In 2017, the school was rehabilitated with financial support for the Chinese Government (Stage 1 captured in Record ID#68877 and Stage 2 captured in Record ID#57038).
