From August 1 to 21, the 42 representatives from Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Bolivia attended the Journalists Seminar of Latin American and Caribbean Countries 2018 in China. The seminar was held in Beijing and Hohhot and entailed visits to museums, heritage sites, sports fields, factories and entertainment venues, the zoo, shopping centers, and media institutions. It was organized by the Research and Training Institute of the National Radio and Television Administration of China (SART) and funded by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. The purpose of the seminar was to strengthen cooperation between the participating countries and China.

Additional details

Intent coded as representational to capture stated intention and primary focus of the trip on visits to locations unrelated to journalism/journalism development. If more education-focused aspects of the seminar can be identified, it is recommended to code intent as mixed to continue to capture the representational aspects of the project.
