In 2006, CNPC AktobeMunaiGas (CNPC AMG), a Kazakhstan-based subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation, provided $793,100 USD for the construction of a monument and museum and nationwide commemoration in honor of the Soviet-era Kazakhstani composer Akhmet Zhubanov.
