Project narrative

On 21 May 2003, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit Boumerdès Province in Algeria. In response, on May 25, 2003, the Chinese government sent a 30-member International Rescue Team to Algeria to help with search and rescue efforts. The value of this project is unknown. The 30-member team, headed by the deputy director of the China Seismological Bureau, arrived in Algeria with with three dogs. On May 30, the team successfully accomplished their mission and returned to China.
