Project narrative

In 2005, according to OCHA financial reports, China donated $500,000 to the Trust Fund for Tsunami Disaster Relief, which was established in February 2005 to fund aid efforts related to the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. This money was specifically used for the coordination of humanitarian assistance in Indonesia. According to a UN Consolidated Appeals on the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, this project was recorded as "TSU - IND-05/CSS01" and the aim of this project was to "maintain and further develop a comprehensive framework for ensuring the coherent and effective delivery of humanitarian assistance to victims of the disaster." The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Financial Tracking Service lists the project as flow ID #25703.
