Project narrative

In 2010, China Eximbank and the Government of Angola signed a $28 million loan agreement for the Saurimo Airport Rehabilitation Project. The borrowing terms fo the loan are unknown. However, it is known that the loan was secured by (i.e. collateralized against) future oil export receipts. The project involved the restructuring of the tracks adjacent to the runway and of the passenger terminal at the Saurimo Airport (also known as the Deolinda Rodrigues Airport). Rehabilition work began at the end of 2007 and was completed on August 28, 2012.
