Project narrative

On January 3, 2007, the Chinese Government reportedly provided a $4 million grant to the Government of Guinea-Bissau to help pay the delayed salaries of public servants and thus help the Government of Guinea-Bissau overcome its budgetary difficulties. Then, on June 14, 2007, another related agreement was signed by Guinea-Bissau’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maria da Conceição Nobre Cabral, and by China’s Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, Yan Ban Ghua.
