Project narrative

In 2011, China pledged to assist Malawi in setting up solar and biogas pilot projects at universities. The Chinese will install demonstration projects to help train renewable-energy engineers. Natural Resources, Energy, and Environment Minister Grain Malunga praised the pledge and said that the projects will be able to generate a total of 90 MW and train renewable-energy engineers. The current status of these projects and their value cannot be determined.
