Project narrative

In 2009, the Chinese Government and the Government of Bosnia-Herzegovina signed an exchange of notes, which committed RMB 20 million (EUR 2,297,000 million) of grant funding for the provision of 862 computers, 30 laptops, 240 printers, 65 video projectors, 3 servers, 63 switches, 30 routers, 30 UPS devices, 40 TVs, 10 copiers, 55 scanners, 40 digital cameras, and 40 DVD players to 36 primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Srpska. A project handover certificate was signed on December 27, 2010. The equipment was distributed by the Ministries of Education of the Republika Srpska (RS) and the Sarajevo Canton. The RS Ministry of Education and Culture and the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Education and Science, by mutual agreement, divided the equipment on a 50:50 basis. Two of the facilities that benefited from the donation included Dobrinja Gymnasium (Gimnazije Dobrinja) and the Fifth Sarajevo Gymnasium (Peta sarajevska gimnazija).
