Chinese Government provides RMB 1.5 million grant for provision of equipment to Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages № 1 (Linked to Project ID#66408)

On January 11, 2014, the Chinese Government and the Government of Ukraine signed letters of exchange, which committed RMB 1.5 million grant funding for the provision of printers, computers and other equipment to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to equip the Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages № 1 (Київської гімназії східних мов № 1) in the capital city of Kyiv. This project was funded with the grant proceeds from an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) that the two governments signed on October 14, 2003 (Project ID #66408). On August 12, 2016 Kiev Gymnasium of Oriental Languages received modern educational equipment worth about 226,000 U.S. dollars from the Chinese government. The equipment, which was used to support the creation of Chinese language classrooms at the Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages № 1, was officially handed over on November 22, 2016. The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine Du Wei attended the handover ceremony.
