Description
In 2016, China Eximbank provided a $23,750,000 loan to Nakhonluang Water Supply Enterprise — a special purpose vehicle that is owned by Asia Investment, Development and Construction Sole Co., Ltd. — for the Sendin Water Treatment Plant Project. The project, which was implemented on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), involved the construction of a water supply system in the village of Saendin within Naxaythong (Naxay Thong) District. More specifically, it involved the construction of intake from the Nam Ngum River, the construction of a water treatment plant with the capacity of 20,000 m3 /day, and the construction of clear water tanks (2 elevated tanks). Project implementation commenced on June 17, 2016, and ended on June 2, 2018. Upon completion, the project reportedly delivered piped water from the water treatment plant to 56 villages in Naxaythong (Naxay Thong) District and 8 villages in Xaythany District.
