On 2 May 2008, Cycone Nargis hit Myanmar leaving tens of thousands of people dead, missing, or homeless. In response, on May 18, 2008, the Chinese Government sent a 50-person medical team to Yangon, Myanmar to help treat the wounded. Their two-week mission ended on May 31, 2008. Before returning to China, the medical team donated equipment to Myanmar (see Record ID#34310).
