Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On October 31, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius held a donation ceremony in which they donated teaching equipment to three Chinese schools in Mauritius (Xinhua School, Guangming Chinese School and Huaxia Chinese School). The ceremony was held at the Heen Foh Hall in Port Louis, Mauritius. In attendance were Sun Gongyi, the Chinese Ambassador, and Aneeta Ghoorah, Director of Primary Education for the Mauritus Ministry of Education, both of whom gave speeches at the event. Also in attendance were representatives of the Chinese community in Mauritius. The donation consisted of Chinese language teaching materials, projectors, and other unspecified educational materials, which in photographs of the event appeared to include textbooks and storybooks. The Chinese embassy has made similar donations in the past, including the donation of Chinese tutoring equipment and instruments to three Chinese Schools in 2018 (ID #85668).
