Description

On August 9th, 2019, a handover ceremony of emergency humanitarian supplies was held in Douala. In August 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a promise to Cameroonian Head of State Paul Biya to contribute $3 million USD to Cameroon's government for infrastructure and rescue operations in the western areas of the country affected by the secessionist demonstrations. The items included ambulances and other vehicles, treated mosquito nets, school benches, and beds among other items. The handover was certified by Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, Wang Yingwu, and Cameroonian Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji.
