Project narrative

On August 31, 2018, MINEPAT Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey and Cameroonian President Paul Biya signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping providing Chinese technical assistance to three hospitals in Cameroon: Yaoundé Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Buea Regional Hospital, and the Mbalmayo District Hospital. As of October 11, 2018, Chinese personnel were working in Yaoundé, although the extent of Chinese technical assistance in Buea and Mbalmayo is unclear.
