According to the Government of Myanmar’s Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development, the Chinese Government provided an RMB 70 million loan to the Government of Myanmar (between 2006 and 2011) for the 230kV Taungoo-Shwe Taung Transmission Line Construction Project. The purpose of this project was to construct a 230kV transmission line from Shwe Taung (Shwetaung) in Shwe Taung (Shwetaung) Township in Bago Region to Taungoo Township in Kayin State. The implementation status of this project is unknown
