Project narrative

On September 1, 2018 during Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's state visit to China, he and Chinese President Xi Jinping signed a cooperation agreement to carry out a maternal and child health project. Following the signing, Ghana's Deputy Minister of Health Alexander K. Abban had selected a 25-member Ministerial Steering Committee to operationalize the agreement signing and fashion out strategies for the project. On July 20, 2019, China and Ghana started implementing the project, and also inaugurated the 25-member committee.
