Project narrative

According to Chinese Government reporting to the World Food Program’s International Food Aid Information System (INTERFAIS), the Chinese Government donated and delivered 30,604 metric tons of wheat flour (in twelve separate deliveries of 192 tons, 2812 tons, 1788 tons, 3220 tons, 2652 tons, 4329 tons, 3850 tons, 2058 tons, 2656 tons, 3177 tons, 2704 tons, and 2065 tons) to North Korea in 2000. To estimate the monetary value of the wheat flour donation ($2,865,146.48), AidData takes the international price of a ton of wheat in January 2000 ($93.62) and multiplies it by 30,604 tons
