Project narrative

According to Chinese Government reporting to the World Food Program’s International Food Aid Information System (INTERFAIS), the Chinese Government donated and delivered 67,763 metric tons of wheat flour (in twelve separate deliveries of 4593.61 tons, 5496.44 tons, 7037.69 tons, 5492.33 tons, 6943.16 tons, 5432.05 tons, 4467.57 tons, 7230.86 tons, 14161.69 tons, 15213.85 tons, 8032.31 tons, and 8733.75 tons) to North Korea in 2004. To estimate the monetary value of the wheat donation ($9,980,134.64), AidData takes the international price of a ton of wheat in January 2004 ($147.28) and multiplies it by 67,763 tons.
