Project narrative

On June 4, 2013, the Chinese Government and the Government of Mongolia signed letters of exchange, which committed an unspecified amount of grant funding for the Railway Inspection Equipment Project. The purpose of the project was to acquire and install mobile (re-locatable) x-ray equipment for railway container inspection at the port of Zamiin-Uud within Dornogovi aimag and the port of Altanbulag port within Selenge aimag. Nuctech Company, Ltd (Нуктек ХК-ны) was the contractor responsible for implementation. It signed a project implementation agreement on October 23, 2013 and delivered the railway inspection equipment on October 23, 2014. Then, in preparation for the commissioning of the equipment that was supplied, Nuctech Company, Ltd organized trainings for Mongolian customs officials on January 10, 2015, April 11, 2015 and November 7, 2015. The equipment that was delivered to the port of Altanbulag port within Selenge aimag was officially commissioned and put into operation on September 24, 2015. The larger project was officially completed on December 7, 2015.

The Mongolian project title is “Чингэлэг, тээврийн хэрэгсэл шалгах зориулалтын суурин рентген тоног төхөөрөмж” төсөл or галт тэрэг, чингэлэг, ачааны машин шалгах рентген. The Mongolian translation of the June 4, 2013 grant agreement is БНХАУ-ын Засгийнгазраас Монгол Улсын Засгийн газартгалт тэрэгний ачаа бараа шалгах тоног төхөөрөмж болон чингэлэг шалгах тоногтөхөөрөмж нийлүүлэх тухай Засгийнгазар хоорондын солилцох захидал.
