Project narrative

According to Chinese Government reporting to the World Food Program’s International Food Aid Information System (INTERFAIS), the Chinese Government donated and delivered 129,784 metric tons of wheat flour (in 11 separate deliveries of 11102 tons, 5510 tons, 8162 tons, 12544 tons, 8956 tons, 10818 tons, 8110 tons, 8613 tons, 17218 tons, 18402 tons, and 20349 tons) to North Korea in 2007. To estimate the monetary value of the wheat donation ($22,395,527.04), AidData takes the international price of a ton of wheat in January 2007 ($172.56) and multiplies it by 129,784 tons.
