Description

According to Chinese Government reporting to the World Food Program’s International Food Aid Information System (INTERFAIS), the Chinese Government donated and delivered 80,739 metric tons of rice (in ten separate deliveries of 3903 tons, 6637 tons, 854 tons, 9685 tons, 7592 tons, 10509 tons, 8186 tons, 6486 tons, 5053 tons, and 21834 tons) to North Korea in 2007. To estimate the monetary value of the rice donation ($25,309,254.33), AidData takes the international price of a ton of rice in January 2007 ($313.47) and multiplies it by 80,739 tons.
