Staff comments

The DPRK-China Friendship Thaekam Cooperative Farm was initially built with Chinese Government assistance in 1953. On February 19, 1958, Premier Zhou Enlai, accompanied by Chairman Kim Il Sung, visited the farm. To commemorate this visit, the North Korean side named the farm as the Korea-China Friendship House and Cooperative Farm on September 28, 1959.
