Description

The Chinese Government has been sending medical teams to Sudan every year or so since April 1971. On January 16th, 2021, the 36th medical team arrived in Sudan, as agreed to by the Chinese and Sudanese governments. The team was stationed at the Abu Ushar Friendship Hospital and the Omdurman Friendship Hospital, both of which were previously built with funding from the Chinese Government. The team consisted of 42 members, covering 14 medical professions. They will be in the country for a year, and the departments assisted include 14 specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, and dentistry.
