On September 15, 2019, a launching ceremony was held for the Cataract Rejuvenation Project in Sudan, where a new ophthalmology clinic within the Omdurman Friendship Hospital was unveiled. The project will see the Chinese medical team in Sudan helping provide cataract surgery for patients. The team provided free surgeries to at least 159 patients and helped them regain eyesight.
