Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In September 2018, the governments of Chad and China signed an agreement facilitating the donation of 6,000 tonnes of rice from China to Chad during the summit of the forum on China-Africa cooperation. The food aid would be delivered to N'Djamena between 2019 and 2020. On July 12th, 2019, a handover ceremony for the project was held, with Ambassador Li Jinjin, Minister of Production, Irrigation and Agricultural Equipment Lydie Beassemda, and Director of the National Office of Food Security Harime Abdrahman being present at the ceremony. The donation, received in a warehouse in Chagoua, is intended for poor families and will be distributed throughout the territory.
