Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In July 2018, the Chinese Government sponsored a training seminar in water conservation and hydropower management in Abuja. The training session was held in collaboration with the Nigerian Ministries of Budget and National Planning and Science and Technology. The seminar, entitled "Construction and Management of Water Conservancy and Hydro-power Projects" aimed to train 50 members of core engineering staff of relevant ministries in the aforementioned topics. In 2016, Nigeria's Ministry of Science and Technology signed an memorandum of understanding with the International Centre for Small Hydropower. The training seminar falls under this MOU. The International Center on Small Hydro Power (ICSHP) is a public and non-profit institution directly under auspices of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and China’s Ministries of Water Resources and Commerce.
