Project narrative

On November 17, 2018, the Association of Chinese Women in Nigeria in Nigeria and Chinese Consulate General in Lagos donated equipment worth 12 million naira to the Bethesda Home of the Blind. The donation was funded by the Consulate and implemented by the association. The donation was presented by Mao Zhao Xia, the wife of the Chinese consul general, and Zhou Jun, president of the association. According to media reports, the association stated the donation was made as part of the "China-Africa People-to-People Friendship Actions" initiative of the Chinese Government. Items donated included generators, refrigerators, musical instruments, bags of rice, chairs, tables, cooking utensils, tissues, bed sheets, and digital voice recorders.
