Project narrative

On January 6, 2020, the Chinese Embassy provided tractors and other agricultural development materials to the Agricultural Bureau of Togo. This donation was made immediately after the inauguration ceremony for the Kara Youth Center in Togo that was funded and built by the Chinese Embassy and China Road and Bridge Corporation. The agricultural donation appears to have no connection to the Youth Center other than the delivery taking place after the inauguration ceremony. The agricultural materials will be used to improve agricultural development in Togo and strengthen cooperation in the agricultural field between China and Togo. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation after the inauguration ceremony of the Kara Youth Center. China’s Ambassador to Togo, Chao Weidong, and the Governor of Koza Province in Togo attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
