Project narrative

According to a media report on August 24, 2018, the Sudan Ambassador to China, Ahmed Shawir, announced during an interview that China will contribute US$1 million for child mortality reduction project to Sudan. The project will be conducted in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Staff comments

Although the source "China to assume new humanitarian role in Sudan" mentioned that the project is in partnership with UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), there is no information found for this organization to be involved in child mortality project. Therefore, only UNICEF is coded as implementing agency.
