Description
In 2017, the Chinese Government provided an RMB 35.41 million grant to the Government of Eritrea for the Chinese Medical Team Dormitory Construction Project. The purpose of the project was to construct a dormitory for the Chinese medical team stationed at Orotta Hospital in the capital city of Asmara. More specifically, it involved the construction of 21 sets of dormitories with bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. It also involved the construction of a consultation room, treatment room, observation room, two storerooms, a reception room, a public kitchen, a dining room, an entrance, corridor, stairwell, an athletic court, and parking spaces. Jiangxi Changnan Construction Group Co. Ltd. was the contractor responsible for project implementation. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 1, 2017. The project was officially completed on May 21, 2019. China’s Ambassador to Eritrea Yang Zigang and Eritrea’s Minister of Health Amna Nurhusein signed the project handover certificate.
