Description

On December 29, 2018, the Chinese Embassy in Cabo Verde donated gifts and food to 250 children and teachers at the Cabo Verde SOS Children's Village (in Chinese: "SOS儿童村"; in Portuguese: "Aldeias Infantis SOS Cabo Verde"). This donation was made in tandem with the celebration of an Embassy Open Day where children and others could visit the local Chinese Embassy. Volunteers from the Confucius Institute at Foshan University prepared food, exhibits, and games for the village residents. The Chairman of the Village, Dilnisio, and Ambassador Du gave speeches at the events. The Embassy Open Day event provided an opportunity for children from the SOS Children’s Village to learn about China, Chinese culture and the traditional friendship between China and the Buddha. The Chinese Embassy also donated gifts to the Children's Village in 2019 (recorded in the linked project ID#87917).
