Description
According to the Chinese Embassy, in August 2018, the Chinese government and the Cote d'Ivoire government signed an agreement on the mutual establishment of cultural centers. On June 24, 2019, the Chinese cultural center will be established in Abidjan, and the space for the construction of the center has already been identified as announced by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Côte d'Ivoire, Wan Li, during a meeting with the press at the premises of the Chinese Chancellery in Abidjan. The cultural center will be a "platform" to bring the Ivorian and Chinese people "to know each other better, to understand each other" in order to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. On July 27, 2020, the project was reviewed by the Cote d'Ivoire Minister Raymonde Goudou-Coffie and Chinese Ambassador Wan Li. As of this date, no additional information can be found on the implementation status of the project.
