Description

On June 28, 2019, Bank of China and the Government of Cameroon may have signed a loan agreement for phase II of the Ebolowa-Kribi and Mbalmayo-Mekin transmission lines construction project. The project is intended to alleviate the instability of Cameroon's electricity grid. The loan was for $59.3 million USD. The first phase of the project was also funded by Bank of China (as captured via Project ID#57596).

Additional details

1. There is insufficient evidence that a loan agreement was finalized, so AidData has status coded this project as Pipeline: Pledge for the time being. See Staff Comment #2 in Project ID#57596.
