Project narrative

On August 22, 2019, the completion and handover ceremony of the Dar es Salaam University campus streetlight project was held on campus. The project provided 36 solar street lights for the 1-kilometer main road section of Dada. The project also used solar energy equipment. Power China Stecol Corporation was responsible for the construction. Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania Wang Ke, alumnus of the University of Tanzania and General Secretary of the Revolutionary Party of Tanzania Bashiru, President of the University of Dar es Salaam, and more than a hundred people including Anangkisye, officials from the Ministry of Education and Technology of Tanzania, representatives of masters and students, representatives of Chinese enterprises undertaking the project, and journalists and media attended the event. The project was aided by the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania.
