On August 8, 2019, the Awards Ceremony of the China-Tanzania Friendship Documentary Essays Competition was held in the Embassy of China. Aiming at celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tanzania, the essays competition was launched in February 4, 2019 and jointly held by the Embassy and Tanzania-China Friendship Promotion Association. The essays were submitted by May 15, 2019.12 winners were awarded during the ceremony. The winners had their essays published in Embassy website, Wechat and the Embassy Facebook Facebook account, The Oriental Post, Daily News, Habari Leo. The embassy also said they wanted to publish them in a book, but it is unclear whether or not this occurred. The contestants used an article full of sincere emotions to convey the deep friendship between the two peoples, and also showed that China-Tanzania relations have always rooted in the people, relied on the people, and benefited the people. Murimaa, the first prize winner of the foreign language group, said that Tanzania-China cooperation provides important opportunities for the development of Tanzanian youths. Young people should understand and cherish the friendship between Tanzania and China, so that this precious wealth that has gathered the painstaking efforts of generations can be passed on from generation to generation. The representative of Zhang Junle, general manager of China-Turkey East Africa, the first prize winner of the Chinese category, said that the Tanzania-Zambia Railway is a monument of Sino-Tanzanian and China-Africa friendship. We must continue to sing and promote the spirit of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway and let it carry forward in the new historical period.
