Project narrative

On January 15, 2018, China Power Construction Group Co. Ltd. (PowerChina) donated a batch of supplies to the Zambian government to fight the cholera epidemic. The donated materials included bleaching powder, hand sanitizer, buckets, disinfectant, sterilizing hand sanitizer, hand-washing bucket holders, goggles, masks, and rubber shoes, etc. The total value of the donation is 100,000 Kwacha or about 70,000 CNY. The company also provided 3 dump trucks to the Zambian Ministry of Health to clean up garbage and prevent and control the epidemic. Zambia officials said the outbreak was almost under control. In order to combat the cholera outbreak that began in Zambia in 2017, Chinese companies and the Chinese Government have donated numerous rounds of relief funding and materials: Record ID#57357 captures the Chinese Government donation of $314,000 USD. Record ID#66621 captures AVIC International's donation of 100,000 Kwacha. Record ID#66622 captures the Chinese Embassy's donation of 50,000 Kwacha. Record ID#66623 captures AVIC International's donation of 40,000 Kwacha.
