Project narrative

On October 1, 2019, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan donated school uniforms, books, and other unspecified items to the Rawalpindi Uyghur Society and Rawalpindi Uyghur Overseas Chinese School. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. The handover ceremony took place during a celebration for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Yao Jing, spoke at the event to commemorate the friendship between Pakistan and China, and emphasized the ancestral ties of overseas Uyghurs to China.
