Description

On November 9, 2017, the Chinese Government and the Cambodian Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Aun Porn Moniroth, exchanged letters in which the Chinese Government agreed to donate 1,500 biogas plants to Cambodia. The 1,500 biogas plants not only help farmers reduce wood use and greenhouse gas emissions, but also better meet the daily needs of local villagers such as cooking, cooking, lighting and lighting, and help improve the quality of life of local people. On September 10, 2019, the handover ceremony of the 1,500 sets of biogas equipment project aided by the Chinese government in Cambodia was held in Phnom Penh. Ambassador Wang Wentian and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia attended the ceremony and delivered remarks. The monetary value of this donation is not known.

Additional details

According to Wikipedia, a biogas plant is "the name often given to an anaerobic digester that treats farm wastes or energy crops. It can be produced using anaerobic digesters (air-tight tanks with different configurations). These plants can be fed with energy crops such as maize silage or biodegradable wastes including sewage sludge and food waste. During the process, the micro-organisms transform biomass waste into biogas (mainly methane and carbon dioxide) and digestate."
