Project narrative

On January 31st, 2019, the Chinese Embassy in Manila reportedly committed to donating 5 million RMB (about PHP38.9 million) to the victims of a terror attack on a cathedral in Jolo, Sulu. The attack killed 18 people and wounded 82. Prior to the donation, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi extended his condolences to the Philippine government in a letter sent to Locsin and reaffirmed Beijing's resolve against all forms of terrorism.
