Project narrative

In June 2019, the Amu Darya River Gas Company of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC or PetroChina) awarded scholarships to 10 Turkmen high school students to earn a 4-year bachelor's degree at China University of Petroleum (Beijing). The first year is dedicated to learning Chinese followed by the students choosing their majors (engineering, chemical technology, geology, others). The value of each scholarship is unknown. Amu Darya River Gas Company of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has been awarding these scholarships since 2008 (see Record ID#70737).
