Project narrative

In May 2019, Jinan University in China and the National University of Cordoba (UNC; Spanish: Universidad Nacional de Córdoba) in Argentina signed a cooperation agreement to jointly establish a Confucius Institute at UNC. It is the third Confucius Institute in Argentina (see Record ID #s #44155 and #44156 for the institutes at the National University of La Plata and the University of Buenos Aires, respectively), and the first in the inland region of Argentina. The Chinese Embassy in Argentina supported the establishment of the institute. The virtual unveiling ceremony took place on October 9, 2020, after being delayed several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the Confucius Institute at UNC offers introductory and beginner courses in reading comprehension of Chinese in Spanish and in English, and a business Chinese workshop in English. It is also preparing the HSK (written test) and HSKK (oral test) exams to certify Chinese language proficiency.
