Project narrative

According to a report from the Suriname Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in October of 2019, China held a diplomatic training event in Beijing for 25 Surinamese employees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and students from the Suriname Diplomatic Institute (SDI). The training was sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organized by the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). It lasted from October 9 to 28. The project aimed to teach the participants some important aspects of diplomacy and knowledge about the development of the Republic of Suriname as well as the People's Republic of China. Participants also visited the provinces of Fuzhou and Putian. Graduation certificates were given at the end of the session by Professor Men Ming, the dean of UIBE.
